Getting Started#

General Plan#

To begin working with the LEGO Spike kits and prepare for the Clavius challenges, we recommend following the steps below.

  1. Open the LEGO Education SPIKE application.

    In all cases, make sure to select the SPIKE Prime option.

  2. Using the LEGO Education SPIKE application, follow the first unit of the guide called “Competition Ready”.

    • Select Unit Plans”.

    • Select the guide called “Competition Ready”.

    • Start Training Camp 1: Driving around.

  3. In this unit and the following ones, you must first build the Driving Base and then complete the block-based programming exercises. Instructions for building the Driving Base can be found here.

  4. To connect the robot to the device, turn on the robot, select the hub-shaped icon, and follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. Continue with the next two units. It is not necessary to complete the fourth unit or any of the units that follow.

    • Training Camp 2: Playing with Objects (keep in mind that some additional attachments must be built).

    • Training Camp 3: Reacting to Lines.

After completing all the steps, you will be ready to begin working on the Clavius challenges. Click here to see the first challenge.
